What is it, who's it for and what is required?

PIE Teams

  • A group of five or more people who want to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone, anywhere, anyhow, anytime. You can join a Summer Team for between 2 & 12 weeks or a PIE Team in India for at least 2 weeks or as a Team Worker for 6-12 months.
  • People aged 18 and over who know Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and have enthusiasm, energy and are well motivated.
  • Being on a PIE Team calls for a servant-heart, creativity, initiative and a willingness to get up and do.



  • What's Involved?

    Evangelistic Events

  • Summer Teams will be based in the UK working alongside local churches or at county shows. Work may include door-to door surveys, school assemblies, quiz nights, youth clubs, adult events, drama & music, open air witness - in fact any appropriate way of sharing the gospel.
  • PIE Teams in India. The Damascus Trust are working in partnership with Mercy Mission Welfare Society based in Vizianagaram and Plenty To Shar Ministries in Vegayammapeta, both in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Short-term teams go out either in February/March or October/November. There are opportunities to work in an orphanage, English speaking school or in practical and manual work on the campus. There will also be opportunity to experience their outreach work in villages as well get to know the pastors.
  • Year Team Workers are able to work as part of the Damascus Trust for a longer period and gain experience in different aspects of the work. This will include attending meetings, organising events, helping with office admin etc. As part of their time with the Trust, Team Workers are attached to a local church for two/three days each week.
  • What's the cost?

    Damascus Trust Team

  • Short-Term Teams:You are responsible for your travel to and from the mission sites both in the UK and abroad as well as the Training days. You may also need to make a contribution towards food and general mission costs (£25-30 per week), though many UK churches offer hospitality to the team.
  • PIE Team Workers:The target amount is currently £2500. We will offer help and suggestions as to how you can raise this amount. This covers food, accommodation, training and other admin costs.
  • What else do I need to know?

    Damascus Trust Team

  • Depending on which team you are applying for, you may be asked to attend an interview.
  • There will be a training and briefing day for each team which we would expect you to attend.
  • For most missions, acommodation is provided by the local Church, either in church halls or the homes of local Christians.
  • You'll be working alongside local churches wherever possible, so an appreciation of other denominations is important.
