Here are seven lively and interactive teaching series led by Andy Paine for today's Church. Inspirational, encouraging and challenging, they are best run on a weekly basis (usually four except Revelation Unravelled), though they can be run over a weekend where appropriate. They are suitable for small or large groups as well as inter-church events such as Lent Courses. Each of the sessions lasts for about two hours so as to allow time for questions as well as a short break. What on earth will happen?

The early Church lived in the full expectation that Christ would return in their life-time. This gave a dynamic edge to both their fellowship together and their witness to the world. Their future hope deeply affected their present behaviour. We need this edge today, and a clearer understanding of Christ's return will help us. This teaching is so important for todays Church and Andy Paine provides a clear, Biblical understanding of Christ's return. Simply living God's way

In a post-modern, pleasure-seeking society, is holiness possible? With immorality so widespread is it fair to expect Christians to be holy? Is it just about being good? Can we compromise? Discovering the truth, the whole truth and a few suprises

Fact or fiction. Harps and clouds. Fire and brimstone. Whats the truth?

Some comments: Heaven is for good people; hell is for bad people. We'll all end up in the same place. I'll find out when I'm dead.

Some questions: Do they really exist? How can a God of love send people to hell? Will hell last forever? Where are dead people now? What's the final judgement? Can I be sure of going to heaven?

Some answers: For too long the Church has, in general, simplified the one and ignored the other. Jesus spoke a lot about both and it's time to face facts even if it's uncomfortable. Our eternal destiny was a matter of life and death for Jesus and one day will be a reality for each of us. Andy considers various views and opinions, deals with sticky issues, but most of all seeks to focus our attention on what the Bible says, especially the teaching of Jesus.

Or does it?

The millennial reign of Christ involves big words, strong opinions and much confusion. So it is often left alone and seen as too divisive. But it is referred to throughout the Bible and includes such massive events that it not only matters - it is a crucial part of Gods big plan. Andy seeks to explain its impact on planet earth in a simple and Biblical way. We consider various views in the light of scripture, see what it means for all people alive and dead and where it fits in to the bigger picture. It can either be added to the teaching on When Jesus Returns or run separately. This teaching is particularly helpful to those in leadership or responsible for teaching others. Time for discussion is included.

Six key areas for being church

There has to be more to being Church than just turning up on a Sunday! Jesus never intended his Church to be bogged down with ritual, shut away behind four walls, burdened by traditions or irrelevant to life. Being Church should be dynamic, alive, relevant to life and seriously effective - or so the Bible says. We take a look, then dare to let it happen.

In this teaching we look at what it is to be Church in the light of New Testament teaching and consider ways that we need to change. It's about being rather than just doing.

This series is particularly suited to fellowships that are moving into a new phase of being Church and there are six sessions of follow-up small group material which aim to help make it happen.

Living the Kingdom; declaring the Kingdom; anticipating the Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God / Heaven is evident throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It's all about dynamic living under the rule of the King of Kings, as he intended it to be. It's about enjoying the blessing of Almighty God and knowing him as our Heavenly Father. Throughout the Old Testament this can be seen in individuals as well as in God's dealings with the nation of Israel. But the fulness of this Kingdom is realised in the Lord Jesus. Through Christ Jesus the freedom of living as part of God's Kingdom is available for everyone and by the power of the Holy Spirit can transform our lives now as well as for life beyond death.

In this series we trace the Kingdom of God through the Old Testament to see how real it was for individuals and for the people of Israel. We then discover the difference Jesus makes and the beauty of living within this Kingdom now. We face up to Christ's commission to declare his Kingdom through word and action in the world today and finish with the glorious reality of the eternal Kingdom of God being established on this earth as well as in the new heaven and earth.
